Acronyms
The following acronyms are used here to describe the body/foot positions involved in
slalom tricks. For other terms you are unfamiliar with, check the
glossary.
FP: Forward Parallel
BP: Backward Parallel
FMLR: Forward Monoline Leading Right (also FSLR: Fwd Snake....)
FMLL: Forward Monoline Leading Left (also FSLL: Fwd Snake....)
BMLR: Backward Monoline Leading Right (also BSLR: Bkwd Snake....)
BMLL: Backward Monoline Leading Left (also BSLL: Bkwd Snake....)
FCLR: Forward Cross Leading Right
FCLL: Forward Cross Leading Left
BCLR: Backward Cross Leading Right
BCLL: Backward Cross Leading Left
SSLL: SideSurf Leading Left
SSLR: SideSurf Leading Right
ILL: Independent Leading Left
ILR: Independent Leading Right
Conage
The act of doing cones
Extended
Skate on heel; because your leg is typically extended to get it on the last wheel.
Inverted
To do a trick (or have some key part of it) opposite or "upside down" with respect
to the original trick.
Retracted
Skate on toe wheel; intended to be opposite of Extended for most tricks, without
using the term Inverted (and thus creating confusion).
WRR
Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Yes, as on the shampoo bottle, and as on the
Animaniacs.
Yard Sale
Does this belong in a glossary or in a lingo section?
Displacing at least half the course (10-15 cones), leaving them scattered,
as are items in a yardsale. Also used: popcorn.
